The European Technical Assessment of the MKT BZ3 wedge anchor (ETA-19/0619) has been comprehensively updated. Numerous additions and technical optimizations expand the range of applications and improve key performance parameters of this proven heavy-duty anchor. Designers and engineers benefit from enhanced design options and greater flexibility for a wide variety of concrete construction applications. At the same time, installers benefit from extended areas of use and even more efficient on-site installation.
Key Updates at a Glance
- Optimization of k-factors for concrete failure for sizes M12 and M16, including adjustment of the k8 factor for edge failure on the side opposite to the load direction
- Approval for steel fiber reinforced concrete extended, now covering sizes M8 to M20
- Increase of the maximum concrete strength class to C80/95
- Hammer drilling possible without borehole cleaning; only threefold lifting of the drill bit during drilling is required
- Improved values for pull-out failure resistance
- Increased shear load values VRk,s for the BZ3 A4
- Improved interpolation equations for tensile load values under seismic loading, performance category C2
- Improved interpolation equations for shear load values under seismic loading, performance categories C1 and C2
More Performance and Greater Flexibility
With the updated ETA, the BZ3 wedge anchor further demonstrates its high performance for demanding fastening applications – ranging from industrial installations to complex construction projects with stringent safety and load-bearing requirements. The new ETA-19/0619 is now available for download.
