Current design standards are based on the assumption of a rigid anchor plate and a linear distribution of anchor forces. To comply with this assumption, excessively large anchor plate thicknesses are often required in practice that are not cost-effective. By applying an advanced load distribution model within the anchor group in combination with the Finite Element Method (FEM), realistic anchor forces can be determined even for elastically deformable anchor plates. For this purpose, the software has been extended with a new design method, while still enabling verification in accordance with the European standard EN 1992-4 in conjunction with the relevant technical publication.
With the enhanced MKT Anchor Design Software, design engineers can apply this method quickly and efficiently. When selecting the optional calculation method, realistic anchor forces—depending on the specified anchor plate thickness—are determined and verified for static/quasi-static as well as seismic actions. In addition, the stress distribution within the anchor plate is clearly visualized in the design report using color contour plots. As usual, the software is available free of charge, can be downloaded from the website without registration, and automatically checks for updates. DOWNLOAD MKT ANCHOR DESIGN
