Securing guardrails by the kilometer: Super-Rail sets for linear construction sites
When installing steel safety barriers along roads and bridge structures, the same installation steps are repeated along numerous fastening points. For designers and road construction companies, this makes it essential to have a technically suitable and efficiently installable fastening solution.
MKT’s Super-Rail guardrail sets are designed for fastening steel safety barriers with the RAL quality mark. They consist of the VZ-P resin capsule and a hot-dip galvanized V-A anchor rod with a large washer. The sets are available in sizes M16 and M20. Depending on the application, an additional sealing washer can also be used.
VZ-P resin capsule for installation in concrete
When using the MKT VZ-P resin capsule, the annular gap between rod and concrete is completely filled with injection mortar. This effectively prevents the influx of water and other liquids into the structure through the drilled hole. If the washer is to be additionally sealed against water ingress, a sealing washer can be used.
Depending on the installation situation and applicable installation requirements, the holes can be drilled using hammer drills or diamond drills. Before installation, the requirements for drill hole diameter, drill hole depth, hole cleaning, installation and curing must be checked against the latest technical documentation.
RAL-RG 620 Defines the Requirements
The Gütegemeinschaft Stahlschutzplanken e. V. is an association of more than 70 companies in the steel safety barrier industry. Its objective is to support road safety through defined requirements and documented quality assurance.
For steel safety barriers, RAL-RG 620 defines the applicable quality and testing requirements. The association also provides technical support for the installation of safety barriers. MKT’s Super-Rail sets have been approved by the Gütegemeinschaft Stahlschutzplanken e. V. Regardless of the specific design, guardrail anchoring systems bearing the RAL quality mark are a reliable choice for safely transferring heavy impact loads of up to 40 tonnes into concrete.
