Sustainability
For MKT, sustainability goes without saying. We don’t talk about it much—we act. We manufacture our products in Germany under high social standards, and our production processes are designed to consume as few resources as possible.
All our activities are always conducted in accordance with the applicable national laws and the principles of the United Nations Global Compact. Our policy sets binding minimum requirements that must also be observed and implemented by our suppliers and business partners.

MKT Meets High standards for a sustainable society
MKT does not only invest in quality Made in Germany. In addition to a quality management system certified according to ISO 9001, MKT also invests in certified management systems for energy, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety. Maintaining these systems demonstrates the high priority MKT places on sustainability goals and ensures compliance with the high standards of a sustainable society.

MKT produces using local raw materials and renewable energy
We source the raw materials for our production almost exclusively from Germany and neighboring European countries. The steel grades used contain at least 25% recycled material, stainless steel grades more than 75%. A significant portion of the energy required for production is already generated by our own photovoltaic systems (approximately 35% on annual average). CO2 certificates are acquired for externally sourced energy.

MKT Invests in climate neutrality and the future
From the very beginning, sustainability was a key priority in the planning and construction of the expansion building opened in 2025. The achievement of this goal was confirmed by an independent agency, the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The production building was awarded the Platinum Certificate with a fulfillment rate of 85,6%, making it one of the very first in this category. Thanks to high-performance insulation and consistent heat recovery, the building requires almost no heating energy.
New production facility ‘Quellenstraße’
MKT’s new production building meets the highest standards, from the use of particularly low-emission and durable materials, to low energy consumption, to excellent daylight provision and air quality in the workplace. The consistent installation of heat recovery systems on all production machines reduces energy demand to an absolute minimum. This allows the electricity generated on-site to be used almost entirely for the machines themselves.
If the waste heat from the machines is insufficient in winter, two relatively small heat pumps are available to temper the floor slab using a 50 km-long piping system. Supply temperatures of just over 20°C are sufficient to ensure uniform, draught-free heat distribution throughout the building. According to the “Framework for Climate-Neutral Buildings and Sites,” the operation of the building is therefore climate-neutral.
