The MKT wedge anchor BZ3 is now also approved for applications in steel fibre concrete. This significantly extends the range of applications covered by the European Technical Assessment ETA-19/0619.
Steel fibre concrete is becoming an increasingly important building material. The steel fibres in the concrete prevent the formation of larger cracks during curing and under load. The fibres act like small reinforcements that take over the tensile forces and distribute them more evenly in the concrete. This makes it ideal for all types of reinforced concrete components. Steel fibre concrete is used in large variety, especially for components where small cracks and high durability and watertightness are important. Examples include hall floors that are used for traffic, as well as water and tunnel structures. Fibre concrete is also used for all types of prefabricated concrete.
The BZ3 is available in various steel grades (galvanized steel, stainless steel A4, stainless steel HCR) in diameters M8 to M20. Initially the sizes M8 and M10 are approved for steel fibre concrete; sizes M12 and M16 will follow shortly.
